Sprint ace Cameron Tindle (Edinburgh AC) has called a halt to his indoor athletics season after picking up an injury.
The 16-year-old Berwick schoolboy won his heat of the 60 metres in the Scottish Indoor Championships at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena on Monday in the day’s fastest time of 6.97 secs, but he immediately sought out the Scottish Athletics physio team after feeling pain in his leg and then withdrew from the final.
“I’ve been having trouble with it for some time but that was by far the worst it’s been,” said Tindle, this year’s New Year Sprint champion, who was disappointed not to claim his first Scottish senior title. “That’s my indoor season over.”
The title eventually went to another junior Alex Thomas (Glasgow City) in 6.98 seconds.
