Edinburgh diver Grace Reid won gold in the women’s 3 metre event at the British Championships in Sheffield.
The 20-year-old qualified for the final in fourth place, but turned on the style yesterday in the afternoon to see off the competition.
She settled into things with a score of 60.75 from her first dive and never looked back.
Overall from her six dives she put 325.75 points on the board to finish on top of the podium.
Rebecca Gallantree from the City of Leeds Diving Club was second with 286.50 points with her team-mate Katherine Torrance in third (261.30 points).
The result keeps up Reid’s great recent form and she has grown in confidence in the last few months.
Fellow Edinburgh Diving Club member James Heatly, 19, won the bronze medal in the men’s 3 metre event on Saturday.
Heatly managed to score 364.65 to finish in third in an event that was won by Jack Laugher from the City of Leeds Diving Club with an amazing total of 489.25 points.
It added to the gold Heatly had picked up on Friday in the men’s 3 metre synchro event with Ross Haslam from the City of Sheffield Diving Club.
