Former Scottish high jump champion Jayne Nisbet (EAC) has called quits on her season after failing to recover quickly enough from the injuries she received in a training accident with weights in Loughborough last month.

“I still can’t run and though the rehab is going well I’ve made the decision not to rush back and instead focus on next year,” said Nisbet, who has four Commonwealth Games qualifying marks to her credit.

n EDINBURGH University high jumper Ray Bobrownicki will not be competing at the Scottish National Championships as he has decided to end his season early and focus on writing his PhD. Bobrownicki took just one jump to assist Glasgow City in their final British League division one match at Liverpool last Saturday. He cleared 2.00 metres to win the B event, with David Smith winning the A.

n BEN ROBBINS (EAC) clocked a new personal best of 48.60 secs for the 400 metres in the Celtic Games in Cardiff, then had the honour of receiving the trophy on behalf of the victorious Scottish team.
