John Ross’ great form has continued at the British Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The 75-year-old from Canonmills headed south last weekend in good form having set a British record in his age group for the 400 metres the previous week in Glasgow.
And at Lee Valley he reduced that 400m record even further to win a gold medal in the M75 category.
He also secured a silver medal in the 800m, beating the time that he ran at the Huntsman Games in America last year by six seconds to leave him happy with his weekend’s work.
Ross said: “Training has been going really well of late and when I competed well at the Scottish event at the Emirates last week, it left me confident ahead of going to Lee Valley. I knew the competition would be tougher, but I just concentrated on my own running and was pretty pleased with the results.”
