Edinburgh Kings will look to Lee Reilly to lead them back into contention in the Scottish Basketball League when they host St Mirren at Portobello High School tomorrow (7pm).
Reilly’s big 34-point contribution to last weekend’s away win over Stirling Knights in his first game of the season for Kings will send alarm bells ringing in the St Mirren camp, who are bound to be doubly keen to win given their slip-up at home to Boroughmuir Blaze last Friday.
It would be hard to imagine Saints’ Scottish star Nic Collins failing to reach double figures for the second week in a row and Saints have another big man, Chris Cleary, in form – so home stalwart Simon Flockhart will have to be on top of his game both in rebounding and defence.
Blaze will look to consolidate joint second place or even step above Saints by beating Tayside Musketeers at the Crags SC tomorrow (3.20pm).
Edinburgh University men should take care of Glasgow Storm at the Pleasance on Sunday (2.50pm) as they build up for their Scottish Cup semi-final at home to St Mirren next month.
Edinburgh University women host Tayside Musketeers on Sunday and could find it tough against a team who only just failed to beat St Mirren away last weekend. It’s a big week for the Uni women who also host St Mirren in the Scottish Cup semi-final at the Pleasance next Wednesday at 7.50pm then travel to play Saints in the league at Paisley two days later.
