Scotland’s senior women clinched their place in the semi-finals of the European Small Countries Basketball Championship with an emphatic 86-43 win over Wales in St Polten, Austria.

Top scorer was Rhona Corkindale (Glasgow Rocks) with 14 points, while Becca Allison (Edinburgh Kool Kats) added 12, including eight from eight free throws, Gillian Baird (Loughborough) had 11 and Natalie Chaloner (Rocks) ten points and 12 rebounds.

Scotland were set to play against Austria today to decide who wins the group. Whoever loses that tie will have to face tournament favourites Iceland in the cross-overs.

Iceland crushed Gibraltar by 120-30 in their second and final group game.
