Bonnyrigg’s bid to retain The Co-operative Funeralcare Inter County Top Ten title remains on track with the Midlothian champions crushing Ellon of Buchan County 8-0 at home.

Ronnie Duncan set the scene in the Singles with the Scotland cap storming into a 14-7 lead then cruising to a 21-15 victory in 24 ends over Alistair Campbell.

The chief support came in the Pairs with Lindsay Plenderleith skipping Calum Redpath into a 27-7 win over W Christie and M Stephen. Life for the Triple of Neil Linton, Jamie Hanlan and Kevin McDougall was a bit tougher but they answered the questions at 8-7 to win 15-12 while Tam Russell skipped Danny Dalgleish, Scott Lees and Drew Pearson to a 26-8 win in the Fours.

The Under-25 brigade of Edinburgh & Leith continued the defence of the Scottish League title by beating Fife 150-114 at home venue Mayfield.

Wins on the four rinks skipped by Stephen Pringle, Daniel Gormley, Jamie Reid and Josh Spalding carried the day for an E&L team coping with the defeats inflicted on Neil Watson and Ross Noble.

Pringle’s was the highest flyer having skipped Jamie Ronaldson, Ewan Martin and Liam Mackay into a 16-7 lead then jetting to a 36-7 victory with a supersonic finish of 5, 2, 2, 1, 2, 4, 3, 1.

Gormley also made a double-figure contribution, skipping Mark Mackintosh, Jordan Davidson and Ross Byers into a 31-3 lead and onto a 32-12 win.

Rink Scores: S Pringle 36-7; D Gormley 32-12; J Reid 24-21; J Spalding 27-25; R Noble 19-24; N Watson 12-25.
