West Lothian IBC partnership Calum Logan and Neil Speirs’ bid to win the Scottish 2Bowl Pairs title ended in early disappointment at Paisley.

The duo had taken a 5-3 lead over Lanarkshire challengers Russell Hinson and Roddy McCready in the opening set of their semi-final but were stunned by a 2, 1 finish which gave their opponents a 6-5 win.

Logan and Speirs dropped an expensive three shots on the first end of the second set then remained on the back foot as they suffered a 7-2 loss that killed off their title challenge.

In the final, Lanarkshire endured a two-sets-to-one defeat (8-2, 7-8, 7-2) at the hands of Galleon (Kilmarnock) challengers Drew Boyd and John McCabe Jnr.
