Craigentinny have yet to fire on all cylinders in their mission to capture Division 1 of the Alpha Trophies-sponsored Edinburgh Bowling League for a record-extending eighth time but have the chance to ignite their campaign with home advantage over Northern tonight.

Northern’s sluggish start to the season sees them in danger of being cast adrift as, entering the fourth round of fixtures, they are isolated on the second-bottom rung.

Craigentinny:

Rink 1: Kevin Hunter, Scott Duncan, Kevin McMcFarlane, Willie McDonald.

Rink 2: Craig McCall, Stuart Betts, Gordon Bold, Andrew Jeffrey.

Rink 3: Josh Spalding, Gary Nisbet, Scott Rogers, Daniel Gormley.

Rink 4: Darren Smith, Ian Paterson, David Brown, Andy Caldwell.

CHAMPIONS Parkside proved last season they have the mentality required to stay on when hitting the front, but they will have that put to the test in tonight’s top-of-the-table battle against Tanfield.

Tanfield came up as Division 2 winners and the six-times top-flight champions are going great guns in their efforts to reconnect with their achievements of yesteryear.

Parkside:

Rink 1: Steven Rennie, David Moran, Andy Hargan, Neil Watson.

Rink 2: Craig Bryce, Gareth Edwards, Bob Ramsay, Paul Veitch.

Rink 3: John Bell, Ewan Diven, Brian Salvona, Kevin Boyd.

Rink 4: Danny McCourt, Dave Sherriffs, Davie Anderson, Robert Donaldson.

Queensberry and Maitland are both tough nuts to crack at home so entertain their respective visitors, Hillside and Pilrig, with high expectations of victory.
