The major upset on day two of the Bowls Scotland National Championships saw the star studded Kirkliston rink of Steven Forrest, Greg Logan, Mark Allison, and Neil Speirs make a first-round exit in the Fours.
Speirs and Co were 10-7 up against Chryston but suffered a loss of a 6, 1 and they went into the last end at 14-14 when the opposition ditched the jack for a dramatic winner.
Sighthill also lost out to last end single making a 12-11 exit to Partick, and they were joined on the sidelines by Blackhall who lost 16-11 to Glencarse, however Derek Oliver skipped Cockenzie & Port Seton to a 15-11 win over Netherton. Loanhead MW also won.
The ladies of London Road Foundry – skipped by Ann McCaskell – beat Wishaw 16-10 but the rink of Marion Dickson of Bainfield was nipped 15-14 by Whitburn.
