Midlothian ladies travel to Dundee today as they bid to capture the indoor bowls Scottish Cup at the expense of Auchinleck in a final that promises to be a thrilling encounter between the two Premier League clubs.
Auchinleck are champions while Midlothian seek their first success in the four-year span of the event. However, the form in the longer-established League Cup shows eight wins at the Dalkeith stadium to the five of the Ayrshire outfit.
Both finalists competed in the B section of the Premier League and, while Auchinleck finished four points ahead of Midlothian, the two head-to-heads resulted in a win apiece.
The Midlothian camp is on an end-of-season high with recent British Isles title wins in the Junior Singles (courtesy of Stacey Laidlaw) and Fours. The presence of figures such as Laidalw, Kelly McDougall, Gaynor Duncan, Sandra McLeish and Scotland’s most-capped player, Jeanette Conlan, is a further boost to team morale.
Rink 1: Sandra Muir, Norma Shillinglaw, Grace McGregor, Sandra McLeish.
Rink 2: Susan Liddle, Elaine Young, Kelly McDougall, Stacey Laidlaw.

• East Lothian also have a date with title destiny this weekend with the ‘garden county’ bidding to capture the Headwell Mixed Team Championship at the expense of Perth in tomorrow’s final at Dunfermline.
The records show that East Lothian’s only title celebration in this long-standing event came in 1994 so hopes are high that the long gap will be bridged by a team that features John McCrorie, Muriel Hamilton, Brian (BJ) Smith and Scott Mackintosh as the four skips.
John Hamilton is a late call up in place of the injured Alan Davidson.
Gents: John Carpenter Jnr, Matt Osborne, Stuart W Thomson, John McCrorie.
