Super Middleweight boxer Brian Forsyth made a positive start to his professional career with a narrow points victory over Christian Hoskin Gomez at in Glasgow.
The former Scottish light heavyweight champion, 28, was awarded the bout 39-38 after a closely-fought four rounds at Bellahouston Sports Centre, showing good range in his shots as he made his way around the canvas. Forsyth will make his hometown debut in Edinburgh at Meadowbank Stadium on Saturday, September 5.
Meanwhile, John Thain got back to winning ways after a nine-month absence with victory over Englishman Chris Jenkinson in his light middleweight bout.
The 27-year-old Edinburgh boxer suffered back-to-back defeats last year but made amends with an accomplished display against an opponent five years his senior. Thain, though, disclosed last week he is considering moving down to welterweight however, another fine win may force him to reconsider.
