Lochend boxer Lewis Benson contributed to Scotland’s 7-3 victory over Norway in a home international contest at the Thainstone Exchange in Inverurie.
Benson outscored his visiting opponent Johan Seleba in all three rounds to ease to victory in the 69kg bout in what was ideal preparation for the Scottish Championships that begin at the end of February.
The 22-year-old said: “I boxed top of the bill and I was really happy with my performance.
“It was good to get rid of the cobwebs, so roll on the Scottish Championships in five weeks.”
There was, however, disappointment for Craigmillar’s Jason Easton, who lost out to his Norwegian counterpart Salavat Khatujev at 64kg.
