South African Mario Olivier has joined Carlton for the 2016 CSL Eastern Premier Division cricket campaign.

Last season the Grange Loan men finished third in the top flight behind champions Mazars Grange and Arbroath and will be looking to challenge for silverware once again in the new year.

Seam bowler Olivier, 33, will be a key asset and he has a lot of experience under his belt.

He spent seven years on the South African domestic circuit from 2005 to 2012.

In 174 matches he took 252 wickets and in one outing recorded the third best first-class bowling figures in South African history for the Warriors franchise

He has also played for other sides, most notably amateur provincial side Northerns, and previously earned selection for the South African Emerging Players squad.
