SCOTLAND were outclassed at the Kia Oval as Surrey chalked up a crushing 100-run victory in a Yorkshire Bank 40 Group B match.

Chasing a huge Surrey total of 303, gained from 39.1 overs, openers Hamish Gardiner and Freddie Coleman gave the Saltires a decent start by putting on 94 inside 18 overs, but Scotland then lost wickets in quick succession as they were bowled out for 203 in their vain attempt to get close.

A cavalier 113 by Jason Roy had been the highlight of Surrey’s innings, the 23-year-old completing his fourth List A hundred from just 77 balls and overall hit two sixes and 16 fours in his 86-ball innings.
