Livingston of Baillie Gifford East Two put in the performance of the season so far – breaking the club’s highest score record in the process – to post a thumping win over Broomhall on Saturday.

The man to watch at the Cairns was Fahad Ahmed who hit a brilliant 211 not out.

The product of the West Lothian club’s youth set-up was in inspired form and his team-mates seemed to feed off his confidence too as they made 388-7 from 45 overs.

In their reply, Broomhall stuck at things pretty well but were never going to chase such a big score and in the end Livingston won by 175 runs. The result leaves Livingston second in the table.

Meanwhile, in East One, Heriot’s II defeated West Lothian at Boghall.

Heriot’s produced a disciplined bowling effort to restrict the home side to 147 all out batting first. The men from Goldenacre then made 152-2 in pretty quick time to win.

Edinburgh South went down in a high scoring encounter with Dunnikier.

Dunnikier made 338-3 batting first and then Edinburgh South were 280 all out.

Musselburgh were skittled out for 80 in their run chase against Gala who had posted a formidable 211-9.
