Stuart & Stuart Penicuik Cricket Club 2nd XI have won Division Five of the Baillie Gifford East League.
After losing the first game of the season, Stuart & Stuart Penicuik 2nd XI won the remaining 12 games, averaging 207 runs for and only 121 against. In one game, a total in excess of 300 was posted while on other occasions the team recorded 200 run victories.
Top run scorer was Stephen Green and top wicket taker was Peter Kingsbury.
Despite the club having a large number of younger players – most of the first XI and about half of the 2nd XI are in their 20s or younger – Stephen and Peter have a combined age of over 100!
The players who provided a fitting tribute to the club’s 170th anniversary are, back row, Nomah Hafiz, Jake Perry, Dave Adams, Martin Juson, Ross Liddle, Grant Davidson, Cammy Crawford, Andy Harrison, Scott Charleson, Stephen Thomson and Nick Brown. Front, Richard Charleson, Stephen Green, Dougie Liddle (captain), Peter Kingsbury and David Ainslie.
