Matt Loeffen took six wickets as Marchmont easily saw off Musselburgh at Cavalry Park in East One on Saturday.
With a number of matches in the East Leagues starting, but failing to finish due to weather, Marchmont made sure that their home match would not be one of them with a clinical display.
Batting first, Musselburgh never really got going and Kiwi Loeffen led the way for the home side with the amazing figures of 6-8 as the East Lothian men were bundled out for just 42. In reply Marchmont reached their victory target with seven wickets in hand to move further away from the bottom of the table.
Murrayfield DAFS remain bottom after a loss to Largo.
The match was reduced to 40-overs-a-side and DAFS bowled well to restrict the Fifers to 147 all out.
Youngster Haris Aslam continued his good season with four wickets as Carlton II bowled Watsonians II out for 241.
With Carlton II at 12-1 in their innings the rain came and the match was abandoned.
