The first-round draw for this year’s Murgitroyd Masterton Trophy has paired the Capital’s top four cricket sides together in two intriguing looking ties.

Holders Watsonians will make the trip to Stockbridge to take on fellow CSL Eastern Premiership side Mazars Grange in May.

The city’s two other top flight sides – Carlton and Heriot’s – have been drawn to meet at Grange Loan.

The Twenty20 event allows East League teams a chance to take on the bigger clubs and after Edinburgh made the final last year others may fancy themselves for a good run this time around.

Edinburgh will host Morton in the first round while Edinburgh South will look forward to their trip to SMRH.

Draw: Linlithgow v Livingston, Holy Cross v Edinburgh Accies, Murrayfield DAFS v RH Corstorphine, Marchmont v Stuart&Stuart Penicuik, Edinburgh v Morton, Mazars Grange v Watsonians, Carlton v Heriot’s, SMRH v Edinburgh South.
