City of Edinburgh cyclists Callum Skinner and John Paul are in a field of six for the sprint competition at the Six Days of Bremen Track Meeting in
Germany, which gets underway tonight.

Skinner, the 20-year-old British sprint champion, and 19-year-old Paul, will face a familiar foe in Welsh rider Lewis Olivia as well as the German trio, Sebastian Doehrer, Philipp Thiele and Erik Balzer, in a range of disciplines which will be contested late into the
night and morning – tonight’s schedule concludes just before 1am and tomorrow night’s session will finish around 2am.

Skinner confirmed that he had recovered from a broken
collarbone when he finished runner-up at the Revolution Meeting in Manchester last weekend, missing out on a personal best in qualifying by seven hundredths of a second.

“Overall I couldn’t have asked for more as a comeback from my injury,” said Skinner today. “It’s given me great confidence for the year ahead and reassurance that I haven’t lost too much.”

And, relishing the chance to sample the multi-day competition which is a huge crowd puller on the continent, he
added: “This will be my first ‘six day’ and I’m looking
forward to it a lot.”
