Edinburgh Falcons have sealed a successful cycle speedway season by taking the Northern League Division Two title.
The season came down to a winner-take-all shoot-out with Sheffield Scores were level at 35-35 after seven heats and the breakthrough came with a maximum 7-3 heat advantage through the pairing of Neil Swanson and Ewan Kennedy, a score they repeated a few races later.
With two races remaining, Sheffield needed maximum scores from both but Edinburgh rider Gavin Kennedy was ridden into the starting gate, resulting in the Sheffield racer being excluded and leaving Falcons to go on and win 79-70.
The successful line-up was, left to right, Mark Lee, Paul Kelly, Douglas Morgan, Neil Swanson, Calum Slight, Gavin Kennedy, manager Stevie Gilroy and Marcin Czarcowski. Front, John Murphy and Ewan Kennedy.
