City of Edinburgh cyclist Katie Archibald is set for a busy weekend with competitions on both sides of the border.
The rising star made a significant breakthrough last week when she combined with Laura Trott, Dani King, Jo Rowsell and Elinor Barker to take team pursuit gold in a new world record time at the European Track Championships in Holland.
But the riders who were her colleagues in Apeldoorn will be among her rivals when she competes at the Revolution Meeting in Manchester tomorrow.
The 19-year-old is also scheduled to compete in the individual pursuit when the final session of the Scottish Track Championships take place at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow on Sunday.
Archibald’s fellow City of Edinburgh rider Callum Skinner will also be in action in Manchester tomorrow when he lines up in the men’s sprint event against a field that includes Olympic gold medallists Jason Kenny and Phillip HIndes, as well as Russia’s Denis Dimitriev, the newly crowned European champion.
