Bo’ness United’s Super League title bid is over after they lost 1-0 away to Hill of Beath last night – handing Kelty Hearts their first ever top-flight crown.

Last season’s title winners had to win to keep their title bid alive going into this weekend, but went down to a Lewis McKenzie strike in the first half.

Bo’ness squandered numerous chances throughout and should have been ahead before the Fife side took the lead.

Bonnyrigg Rose shocked Linlithgow at Prestonfield in their penultimate league match of the season as they won 3-0 win against Danny Smith’s men.

Striker Fraser McLaren put the visitors ahead early in the second half before goals from captain Ross Archibald and youngster Johnny Court secured David McGlynn’s side all three points.

Newtongrange crashed out at the quarter-final stage of the Fife & Lothians Cup despite leading 2-0 to their hosts Camelon, who fought back to win 3-2 and secure a home semi-final against Bo’ness.
