David Hopkin has been named as the new manager of Livingston until the end of the season.

The 45-year-old former Scotland international was acting as caretaker manager after Mark Burchill was dismissed last month, but he has done enough in the three games he’s been in charge of the Lions to be given the job on a permanent basis.

Livingston defeated St Mirren 4-1 in his first match as caretaker, before going down 2-0 to Falkirk and losing by the same scoreline to Queen of the South. The club are currently second-bottom in the Ladbrokes Championship, seven points ahead of last-placed Alloa.
