ANDY DRIVER has joined Aberdeen on trial as manager Derek McInnes takes the chance to look at the former Hearts winger in training.
McInnes admitted he is interested in the 27-year-old, who is available as a free agent having been released by the American club DC United last month.
Driver trained with Aberdeen’s first-team squad under the watchful eye of McInnes recently and is back again this week in the hope of proving himself worthy of a contract.
“Andy’s someone we’ve invited in to train, he’ll have a look at us and we’ll have a look at him,” McInnes explained. “So, while there’s nothing definite there, the fact we brought him in means it is something we’re interested in.”
Driver is looking for a short-term deal with a Scottish Premiership club and will consider his future again this summer.
Kilmarnock and St Mirren have also expressed an interest in the winger, who spent more than a decade at Hearts before joining the MLS club Houston Dynamo in 2013.
