HEARTS and Hibs have both been handed home draws against lower-league opposition in the third round of the League Cup.

The Tynecastle side will host Championship side Queen of the South, who this week added St Mirren to their growing list of high-profile cup conquests over the past year or so.

Meanwhile, across the city, Hibs will welcome League One side Stranraer to Easter Road. The Stair Park side knocked Ross County out of the competition on Tuesday night.

The ties will be played on Tuesday 24 or Wednesday 25 September.

Full draw: Hearts v Queen of the South; Hibs v Stranraer; Hamilton v St Johnstone; Dundee United v Partick; Falkirk v Aberdeen; Celtic v Morton; Dundee v Inverness CT; Livingston v Motherwell.
