Hearts will be looking overcome the biggest odds on record for a Scottish Premiership match when they go off at a whopping 25/1 to beat Celtic at Parkhead tomorrow.
Bookmakers McBookie.com and BetVictor have gone out on a limb to offer the standout price against the depleted Jambos, who lost 7-0 at home to Celtic in the Scottish Cup three weeks ago.
Paul Petrie, McBookie.com spokesman, commented, “We’re pretty sure this is the biggest price ever offered in a top league fixture in Scotland. Hearts were 11/1 when the two teams met in the Scottish Cup earlier this month and we know what happened then.”
To put into perspective the size of the task facing Hearts, their main striker, Callum Paterson, is available at a humongous 22/1 to score first. Celtic’s Anthony Stokes, by contrast, is a best-price 7/2.
Celtic to win by giving Hearts a two-goal head-start is 10/11 with Ladbrokes, while Celtic minus five on the handicap is 10/1 with Coral.
Hearts to win 1-0 is an incredible 90/1 with BetVictor.
