Hearts have signed former Valencia defensive midfielder Miguel Pallardo until the end of the season.
Pallardo, 28, will go straight into the Hearts squad for Saturday’s Championship clash with Dumbarton.
The Alaquas-born Spaniard has played for Valencia, Getafe, Levante and Almeria and has represented his country twice at Under-21 level. He was recently on trial with Frech Ligue 2 side Sochaux, but failed to win a deal.
Pallardo has made 179 first-team appearances in the Spanish Primera and Segunda divisions, scoring two goals.
“I’m very pleased to sign Miguel,” said Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson. “He is a good player who will be a great addition to the squad. He has good experience of La Liga and hopefully that will benefit the team as well as the younger boys.”
