Osman Sow today became Hearts’ eighth summer signing after agreeing a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old Swede impressed with two goals in two trial outings against East Fife and Manchester City and head coach Robbie Neilson has now signed him permanently.

Sow joins Scott Gallacher, Prince Buaben, Morgaro Gomis, Alim Ozturk, Neil Alexander, James Keatings and Soufian El Hassnaoui as new recruits at Tynecastle. He previously played in Sweden and Moldova before spending last season in England with Crystal Palace.

“I’m delighted to get Osman here. He’s a tall, athletic player who will add strength to our forward line,” Neilson told the Hearts website.

“He’s a quality player and spent last season down in the English Premier League with Crystal Palace, so it’s a bit of a coup to get him here.

“I’ve been impressed with him in training and with his appearances against East Fife and Manchester City. I’m very satisfied now with the attacking options that we have.”
