Hearts have taken former Atletico Madrid youth player Alvaro Merida on a week’s trial as they look to enhance their squad for the next season’s Premiership campaign.
The 22-year-old will train under head coach Robbie Neilson as he bids to win a contract.
The Madrid-born player is a striker who can also play as an attacking midfield player. He has fallen down the divisions in his homeland.
Neilson confirmed he has several under-20 players also on trial at Riccarton.
