Ian Cathro and his men will head along the M8 for the same fixture that saw them close out the previous season. A fortnight later they’ll make the same trip to take on Rangers at Ibrox.

Contrary to expectations, Hearts have been handed two home matches in the month of August. Kilmarnock are scheduled to travel to Tynecastle on Saturday 12 August, while Motherwell are due to arrive in Gorgie two weeks later.

Clubs are allowed to request the postponement of one home match in August, while Hearts may also ask for the other fixture to be postponed or swapped as they await completion of the new main stand.

Fans will have to wait until matchday 11 for the first Edinburgh derby of the season, as Hearts are scheduled to travel to Easter Road on Wednesday 25 October.

There will be no New Years derby this term. Instead, Hibs will come to Tynecastle on Wednesday 27 December.
