Hearts Under-20s reached the Little Big Shot Scottish Youth Cup final with a 2-0 win over Dundee United.

The wee Jambos opened the scoring in six minutes. Ally Roy got on the end of cross from Jordan McGhee and headed home.

Hearts came close on 13 minutes when McGhee’s header landed on top of the net. Then, four minutes later Robbie Buchanan struck the bar from 20 yards out.

The visitors started the second half strongly, but didn’t make their chances pay and Hearts scored their second goal on 71 minutes. Harry Souttar – brother of Hearts defender John – fouled Dario Zanatta in the box and Angus Beith scored from the resultant penalty.

Hearts will now face Motherwell in the final after they defeated Ross County.

Hearts: Mason, Jones, Baur, McGhee, L Henderson, Morrison, Beith, Buchanan, Moore, A Roy (I Smith 61), Zanatta. Unused subs: Fisher, Baxter, Howlett-Mundle, Cochrane.
