Ian Murray will return to Easter Road as a manager for the first time when he brings his Dumbarton side to the Capital for the second round of the League Cup.
A goal by Sons defender Andy Graham against Brechin was enough to set up the clash which will take place on either Tuesday, August 26 or the following evening.
Hibs boss Alan Stubbs welcomed the home draw saying: “We are confident we can get a result against anyone at Easter Road. Nevertheless it will be a difficult match against a well-organised team that love to attack. It’s nice to welcome back two former Hibs players Ian Murray and Guillaume Beuzelin who I have met since I joined the club. It promises to be a fantastic cup tie.”
Hearts will travel to face Stenhousemuir while Livingston have drawn Queen of the South at home. Rangers will enjoy a home tie against Inverness Caley – if they can see off Queen’s Park in their re-arranged first-round tie.
Full draw: Hibs v Dumbarton, Morton v Partick Thistle, Falkirk v Cowdenbeath, Queen’s Park or Rangers v Inverness Caley, Hamilton v Alloa, Stranraer v Ross County, Dundee v Raith Rovers, Livingston v Queen of the South, Kilmarnock v Ayr United, Stenhousemuir v Hearts, St Mirren v Dunfermline.
