Commonwealth Games gold medallist Josh Taylor will be a guest of honour at Tynecastle tomorrow when he takes in the first Capital derby of the season between Hearts and Hibs.
The Lochend boxer, 23, stood aloft the podium at the SSE Hydro two weeks ago after a ruthless display against Namibia’s Junias Jonas in the final bout of the 64kg weight category. Team-mate Charlie Flynn was the only other Scottish boxer to take gold at the Games.
Taylor will enjoy a pre-match meal before emerging from the tunnel at half-time with his medal where he is expected to receive a rousing reception from both sets of supporters.
The Prestonpans star, who has no allegiance to either Capital club, will have an opportunity to thank the people of Edinburgh for their support.
