HEARTS will continue searching for a back-up goalkeeper for next season after deciding not to offer trialist Chris Konopka a contract.
The American trained at Riccarton this week but has been told he has not done enough to earn a deal.
The Edinburgh club plan to loan their current second-choice keeper Jack Hamilton out next season to give him first-team experience. They want another deputy for No.1 Neil Alexander but Konopka will not be given the role.
Club management intend to keep looking at goalkeepers they think may be able to come in as understudy to Alexander. The 38-year-old is expected to sign a new contract ahead of next season and continue as the established goalkeeper at Tynecastle.
