Hibs this afternoon confirmed the departure of 11 out-of-contract players following the club’s relegation to the Championship, including the club’s No.1 goalkeeper Ben Williams.
Kevin Thomson and James McPake’s exits were confirmed this morning and the club revealed this afternoon that Williams, Sean Murdoch, Paul Grant, Alan Maybury, Bradley Donaldson, Paul Cairney, Tom Taiwo, David Gold and Dean Horribine will not have their contracts renewed.
Hibs also communicated that loan players Danny Haynes (Notts County), Duncan Watmore (Sunderland) and Daniel Boateng (Arsenal) will return to their parent clubs.
The departures of Williams, Murdoch and Grant means that Hibs do not have a goalkeeper with a first-team appearance on their books.
Scott Robertson, however, is one player who appears to have a future at Easter Road. He wrote on Twitter: “To all hibs fans that are rightly angered by recent events, you don’t deserve what’s happened to ur club, gutted for u all more than anyone. To those asking about my future I am under contract for another year and will be reporting for pre-season training at east mains.”
