Former Musselburgh Athletic player Calvin Shand won’t be taking over at the Olivebank club on a permanent basis as he has decided to focus on his role as manager of Hibs Under-17s.

Shand had taken charge of ’Burgh’s last two games against Broxburn Athletic and Penicuik, but didn’t take the team on Saturday against Carnoustie Panmure. Instead, former manager David McGlynn’s assistants Walter Martyniuk and Allan Todd took control, but neither is understood to be interested in taking over full-time.

Musselburgh haven’t advertised for the vacant post and are instead looking to approach someone to take over.

Livingston manager John McGlynn, brother of chairman Charlie McGlynn, has helped out with training sessions in the last few weeks with the club having gone four games unbeaten since Charlie’s son David quit.
