Hibs star Liam Craig has been ruled out of Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Inverness Caley Thistle after losing his appeal against a charge of “kicking or attempting to kick” Hearts midfielder Ryan Stevenson.

Craig was served with a notice of complaint by SFA compliance officer Vince Lunny after the League Cup quarter-final clash last month where Stevenson’s goal eliminated the Easter Road club.

The former Falkirk and St Johnstone player rejected the “offer” of a two-match ban but, following a disciplinary tribunal at Hampden today, the suspension was upheld meaning Craig sits out Saturday’s game and also his first League Cup match next season.
