DANNY HANDLING continued his comeback from injury as he scored for Hibs Under-20s in their 3-2 defeat by Inverness.

The 19-year-old, who has not featured for the first team since the end of August because of an ankle injury, found the net on 88 minutes as the young Hibees went down to their Highland counterparts last night at the Energy Assets Arena in Livingston. Paul Cairney also played as he steps up his bid to be ready for first-team action following an ankle injury.

Inverness took the lead through Thorbjorn Adgestein on 22 minutes and then doubled it on 52 minutes through Liam Polworth. Worse was to follow for the hosts when Adam Evans scored on 62 minutes.

Ross Caldwell reduced the arrears seven minutes later before Handling set up a tense finish late in the game. James McDonagh’s side, however, could not find an equaliser.
