Alex McLeish’s Hibs side are reuniting in Edinburgh on Sunday for a charity dinner which will benefit four good causes.

The “Where Are They Now” event at the Corn Exchange’s Baron Suite will see many of the players who featured in the 6-2 derby defeat of Hearts in 2000 join their old boss along with other ex-players and sporting guests.

Midfield magician Russell Latapy is flying in from his home in Portugal and Nick Colgan, Ian Murray, Stuart Lovell and John O’Neil along with coach Donald Park have all confirmed they’ll be there while it is hoped Mixu Paatelainen and David Zitelli will be present depending on personal commitments.

Profits from the dinner – which will be hosted by Eric Davidson and will feature live music from X Factor contestant Megan Louise Bradley – will be split equally between Marie Curie, Richmond Hope, the Dnipro Appeal and Cash for Kids.

The evening, which will also include an auction of football memorabilia and a question-and-answer session with McLeish and the players, has been organised by life-long Hibs fan Alex Hurry, who said: “As a former ball boy and online journalist at the club, I wanted to show these guys my appreciation for what they did for Hibs.”

Tickets are priced £62 each or £500 for a table of ten. To book a table or reserve a ticket, call Alex on 07944 056589.
