Hibs boss Terry Butcher will be banned from the dugout for Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash against St Johnstone after only partially succeeding in his appeal against a two-match touchline ban.

Butcher had the suspension, and a £1000 fine, after being sent to the stand while manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle during an ill-tempered League Cup tie against Dundee United. He admitted a charge at a disciplinary tribunal of acting in an aggressive manner towards players of the opposing team, but appealed the severity of the sentence.

However, an appeal tribunal sitting at Hampden today decided that the ban, the second half of which is suspended for the remainder of the season, should stand, but quashed the fine.
