Hibs were today hit by a hammer blow when boss Alan Stubbs revealed David Gray could be out of action for a month, ruling the right back out of the final few games of the regular season and the Scottish Cup semi-final against Falkirk.

Gray tweaked his hamstring in training and Stubbs believes a scan will confirm his worst fears.

The initial reaction is that Gray – arguably Hibs’ most consistent player this season – will be out for three or four weeks which, if confirmed would see him miss the final six games, including next weekend’s Edinburgh derby.

Stubbs, however, is hopeful Gray will be back for the play-offs if not sooner given the defender’s history of having been a quick healer.
