Hibs have told both Rangers and Queen of the South that their fans can expect only 1500 tickets for the second leg of the Championship play-off semi-final at Easter Road.

The Capital club will find out on Sunday which of those sides they will face, the first leg of the semi-final due to be played away from Easter Road on Wednesday and the return in Edinburgh on Saturday.

And, in a bid to maximize the home support, the club have announced that half the south stand, which is usually reserved for away supporters, will be turned over to Hibs’ own fans.

Leeann Dempster, chief executive of Hibs, said: “We anticipate a big demand for tickets for this match from our own supporters, and we need to be in a position to meet that demand.

“We will be selling the three usual home stands first – the East, Famous Five and West – and once they are filled we will sell the additional capacity in the South.

“I know that Hibs fans will want to turn out in big numbers to help try to get the team through what is a really big game for the club.”
