Hibs goalkeeper Ofir Marciano is anxiously awaiting the results of an MRI scan after sustaining a knee injury on international duty.

The Israeli hooked up with his national squad earlier this week for the first time in over a year after earning a recall in light of his consistent form for the Easter Road club this season.

However, he suffered what appears to be a knee injury yesterday in a day-time training session and has been released from the Israel squad for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier in Tirana.

Hibs, who will field No.2 Ross Laidlaw against Falkirk on Saturday, will be particularly eager to learn the extent of the injury as the 27-year-old has proved a steadying influence since joining on loan from FC Ashdod in the summer, helping Neil Lennon’s team to seven clean sheets in 11 matches.
