RIGHT-back David Gray has become new manager Alan Stubbs’ first signing at Hibs.
The one-time Hearts youngster – who left Tynecastle for Manchester United as a teenager in 2004 – was most recently at Burton Albion.
Edinburgh-born Gray, 26, has signed a two-year deal at Easter Road.
He played just one first-team game for United – in a League Cup clash in 2006.
Gray said: “I’m delighted to be at Hibs – being an Edinburgh boy I fully understand what the club is all about and the exciting challenge ahead.
“Everything about the move made sense – I’ve got a young family and we were keen to come back up the road to Scotland.
“This is a great opportunity to play for a big club and to be part of something memorable.
“I’m honoured to be Alan’s first signing – he comes across really well – and now I can’t wait to get started.
“Our first competitive game of the season is against Rangers in the Cup and then two games later we’ve got an Edinburgh Derby.
“So there is plenty to look forward to and I’m pleased to be a part of it.”
