Hibs today revealed midfield star Sam Stanton has clinched a new deal, extending his current contract by three years and tying himself to the Easter Road club until the summer of 2018.
The 19-year-old has established himself as a first-team regular under boss Terry Butcher in recent months, a fact recognised by his first Scotland Under-21 cap.
Stanton, a lifelong Hibs fan, said: “It was a really easy decision for me to make. I’ve always wanted to play for Hibs and everything that’s happened so far has been like a dream come true for me.”
Butcher was equally delighted saying: “When I first arrived here Sam wasn’t part of the first-team squad, but now he is probably one of the first names on the team sheet – that underlines the progress he has made in a short space of time.”
