Head coach Alan Stubbs has confirmed Hibs will appeal the red card given to John McGinn in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Falkirk.

McGinn was sent off by referee Kevin Clancy for a tackle on Falkirk midfielder Mark Kerr in the 43rd minute of the Championship clash at Easter Road. Falkirk looked to have won the match when Lee Miller struck just eight minutes from the end, but Martin Boyle scored in stoppage time for Hibs to grab his side an equaliser.

Confirming Hibs will appeal, Stubbs said: “It was one of those in-between. John’s not like that whatsoever. He’s gutted because he feels he’s let everyone down but I can assure him he’s let no-one down. It’s youthful enthusiasm and eagerness. He does them and wins the ball on occasions. Today he’s been a fraction of a second out. We’ll appeal it.”
