Hibs’ under-17s are into the final of the SuperCupN1 – formerly the Milk Cup – after they defeated County Down 3-1 in the semis last night.

A goal from Callum Donaldson – younger brother of former Hibs player Brad – and a double for Jamie Gullan was enough to put Hibs into the final of the Premier section, where they will meet Chilean outfit O’Higgins tonight (kick-off 8pm).

The young Easter Road defeated Brazilian side Osasco Audax 3-0 on Monday before following that up with a 4-0 triumph over Otago of New Zealand the following day.

A 2-0 win over American club Strikers ensured their passage into last night’s semi-final.

Hibs have never won the competition before, reaching the final of the Junior section (under-14s) in 1990 when they were defeated by Norwich.

Local rivals Hearts have won the trophy on two occasions, the last of which occurred in 2004.

Hibs squad: Jordan Brown, Callum Hall, Kane O’Conner, Ryan Porteous, Callum Yeats, Bradley White, Fraser Murray, Callum Donaldson, Jamie Gullan, Ruari Paton, Ryan Shanley, Yrik Gallantes, Dean Cornelius, Alex Kelly, Craig Henderson, Patrick Martin.
