Hibs Under-20s fought from a goal down to claim a point against Dundee United at the Excelsior Stadium, Airdrie.
United’s Aiden Connolly looped an effort over Dougie Horne in the first half, with an Abdellah Zoubir goal hauling the home side level.
Hibs had a chance to win with a late, disputed penalty. However left-back Ryan Baptie missed the target from the spot.
Having to move the fixture from the usual home ground of the Energy Assets Arena in Livingston, the Hibs team battled with United’s youngsters for a foothold early on.
Jamie Montgomery fired wide for the visitors early on, before the in-form Phil Anderson saved from the prolific Jason Cummings.
It was the visitors who seized the lead as a Chris McLaughlin free-kick was finished off by Connolly who artfully finished over the stranded Horne on 26 minutes.
Immediately from the restart Zoubir almost levelled for Hibs as he slalomed through tangerine shirts before seeing his effort saved by Anderson.
Cummings saw a header fly over the bar before Anderson denied him with another fine save to ensure the home side trailed at half-time.
In the 49th minute Tom Gardiner headed towards goal from a Baptie corner, with Zoubir prodding the ball home from point-blank range to level the match.
Anderson denied Cummings yet again, the 19-year-old goalkeeper getting the faintest of touches on the ball to divert the effort onto the upright.
The home side piled on the pressure before Euan Smith was fouled and a contentious penalty awarded, with the referee changing his mind after originally awarding a free-kick.
With 88 minutes on the clock Baptie stepped forward to take the penalty but his effort was high and wide which ensured the sides shared the spoils.
