Here’s what Hibees past and present did away from Easter Road over the weekend ...
Vaz Té’s roller coaster week
Ricardo Vaz Té enjoyed something of an up and down week. The attacker netted twice last midweek as Akhisar Belediyespor won their third round fixture in the Turkish Cup.
However, the player, and his team-mates, came back down to earth with a bump at the weekend as they lost 5-1 away to Istanbul Başakşehir on league duty.
The 30-year-old rejoined Akhisar Belediyespor for a second time this summer after a brief spell with Charlton Athletic.
Rotherham earned their first point in the post-Alan Stubbs era. After losing the first game under the tutelage of Kenny Jackett, a double from Daniel Ward helped secure a 2-2 draw at Ipswich.
Scott Allan was absent from the squad, though there were places for ex-SPFL stars Will Vaulks and Darnell Fisher, while Dominic Ball came off the bench.
Danny Galbraith scored as York City were held at home by Southend United. The midfielder put the hosts 2-1 up midway through the second half, but the match finished 2-2.
The club have made headlines recently for Jackie McNamara leaving his position as manager, after a dreadful start to the season, only to become new chief executive.
How the loanees did
• Sam Stanton played 71 minutes as Dumbarton drew 2-2 with Dunfermline.
• Jamie Insall failed to get on the scoresheet as East Fife went down 1-0 at home to Airdrieonians.
• Ben Stirling came on for the final five minutes as Berwick Rangers drew with Arbroath. Former Hibs’ youth player David Gold scored Arbroath’s opener in the 1-1 draw.
• Defender Ryan Porteous started as Edinburgh City drew 1-1 with Forfar Athletic. Aaron Dunsmore was an unused substitute.
